Jason Eric Trippier
Jason Eric is a Houston Heights-based abstract artist whose work explores the tension between rigid industrial structure and fluid, atmospheric energy. With a background shaped by three decades in real estate, Jason began painting late in life. Working out of his Houston Heights studio with zero formal training, he approaches abstract art with instinctive honesty rather than rigid rules. His paintings are built through a rigorous, time-intensive process of layering acrylics, modeling paste, oil pastels, and charcoal. Using a palette knife and meticulous scraping techniques, he carves out structured geometric forms against chaotic organic textures. Because each piece evolves through countless layers, the surfaces interact dynamically with environmental lighting, revealing new depths as the daylight shifts. His work is living proof that it is never too late to start a new conversation.
