Nina Garza

Texas-based wildlife artist Nina Garza uses her art to spark curiosity about the natural world and raise awareness for the wildlife that shares it with us. Through Artsefact, she combines realistic and semi-realistic wildlife art with conservation storytelling, shining a spotlight on endangered, threatened, overlooked, and unexpectedly fascinating species.

Her work is designed to do more than portray an animal beautifully. Each piece becomes an invitation to discover the species behind the artwork, its behavior, place in the natural world, the challenges it faces, and why it is worth protecting.

Working in acrylic, watercolor, ink, gouache, and other traditional media, Nina combines fine art with conservation storytelling and education. Her work has received international recognition, including the Grand Prize in the Lemur Conservation Foundation’s 2024 World Lemur Festival art contest. Her marine iguana painting was recently longlisted for the 2026 Sketch for Survival and is currently awaiting the next stage of judging.

Through Artsefact, Nina’s goal is simple: use art to spark curiosity about wildlife and turn that curiosity into connection and conservation.

It’s Arts. It’s Facts. It’s Artsefact.
