Several techniques have been developed to create a variety of unique looks taking advantage of the holographic-like film of the disks which gives pieces iridescence and character. Some are colored in various ways while others retain the natural look of the manipulated foil. They are lightweight and eye-catching often resembling dichroic glass or Chinese lacquer. The pieces are very organic so all are one-of-a-kind even if the same shapes, color applications, and techniques are utilized.
