Hatton Henry is a line of leather goods by Vanessa Vaught.  Each bag is hand crafted in our Houston, Texas studio.  Due to the nature of working with natural materials, each colorway is limited and often one of a kind.
Our shop is the namesake of two true American entrepreneurs, George Hatton Vaught and George Henry Vaught (Vanessa’s Grandpa). Better known to the saddle making world as G.H. Vaught & Son, they produced saddles, harnesses, men’s belts, and more out of their Rockwall, Texas based leather workshop (pictured above) for over 100 years.
Valerie Gudell, 3D mixed media artist, was born in NYC. She currently works in Houston, TX, where she creates assemblage art as well as vinyl and clay creatures with unique and sometimes complex personalities. Her main artistic influences include the Steampunk genre, Asian culture, and street art.
During the past few years, Valerie has shown her work at the Japanese American National Museum (Los Angeles, CA), Irving Arts Center (Irving, TX), ShockBoxx Gallery (Hermosa Beach, CA), CraftBoston, d’Art Center (Norfolk, VA), and the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (San Angelo, TX). She has shown her work locally at the First Saturday Arts Market, Ardest Gallery, Texas Art Asylum, Winter Street Studios, and Art Museum TX. Her work has been featured in the Houston Press, Culturemap, The Leader, the LA Beat, and the OC Register, among others. Valerie is currently an artist at Hardy and Nance Studios (Houston, TX).

I’ve been enjoying nature photography for about 15 years. I have ventured twice to Alaska to photograph Grizzly Bears, but I’m most comfortable capturing the small beauty in nature via macro photography. I photograph my subjects such as flowers, beautiful insects, and dew in gorgeous, natural light!
I’m an old hippie whose jewelry making began 20 years ago when on a dare my wife signed me up for a beginner beading class at a local bead shop. I was hooked pretty quickly and began making women’s jewelry using silver, stone and crystal beads and constantly learning techniques to make better pieces. While beading is still a passion, most of my work now is with chain and wire wrap.
Five years ago on yet another dare, I began making rings from old silver coins. I don’t cut or solder the coins. One coin makes one ring and the detail from both sides of the coin is preserved and visible. I fell in love with working metal, and am constantly learning new techniques and exploring the boundaries of turning old coins into cool jewelry. Taking something like a 100-year-old coin and turning it into something it was never intended to be has been an unbelievably rewarding journey, and I love that the possibilities are endless.
Peculiar Sentiments boasts of completely unique, handcrafted leather cuffs, bib necklaces, and a variety of jewelry and accessories made from repurposed and found items. Though some of our jewelry features unique new pieces, our love is for vintage jewelry, antique buttons, repurposed hardware, pocket watch parts, clock pieces or any other re-loved and re-discovered treasures, clustered together for a vintage look. An artisan, photographer and entrepreneur, Natalie has been creating unique designs since she was 13 years old. Repurposing anything and everything from jewelry, furniture, clothing, and even recipes, Natalie’s driving passion is to turn something old and loved into something new and beautiful, while preserving the heart and soul of the original piece.
In October 2012, Natalie launched her business, Peculiar Sentiments. Creatively combining her only available resources: her courage and creativity, a stock of remnant leather, and vintage jewelry from her late grandmother she began creating unique handcrafted cuff bracelets. Encouraged by her family, friends, and customers, Natalie began expanding her repertoire beyond cuff bracelets, to include bib necklaces, earrings, hats, and much more.
I use natural fiber such as wool, alpaca, and angora as my media, transforming the raw fiber by hand dying and using a variety of felting and surface design techniques in my creative process. My style is expressive and impressionistic and centers on vivid colors and textures to create striking visual movement. My representational art is primarily landscapes and botanical images. I am an emerging fiber artist in the Katy/Houston Area. I began my artistic pursuits at an early age studying sketching, drawing, painting, and writing in a multitude of venues from academic courses to artist’s cooperatives. In recent years, I have transitioned from a casual painter and artist to a career artist. I think of my artwork as inner reflections of the outer natural world, full of color texture and experience.
My work reproduces familiar visual signs, arranging them into new conceptually layered pieces. This work has always been grounded in pleasure and aesthetics. Felting is my key to sharing this inner landscape with the world. Hand dying and wet felting started it. From the beginning, the process of transforming fiber into cloth has struck me as magical. And, over the years, that magical process has had its way with me, leading me from hobby to art.
Felting fills me with a sense of accomplishment and integrity, and has proven a most amenable vehicle for translating inner vision to outer reality. I felt from the inside out. Though I work quite deliberately, consciously employing both traditional and innovative techniques, my unconscious is the undisputed project manager. The organic nature of this work frees my imagination and provides many opportunities for happy accident and grace to influence the finished product.
Moving to Texas has opened new vistas that resonate deeply with my fiber work. Inspired and invigorated by a renewed sense of continuity, and awed by the mystery of how creation occurs, I am now exploring the many patterns, textures and colors of this new land.

I am a fine art nature photographer. I choose a camera as my tool because the art I see in nature is so real, so I do not want to alter it too much. A camera lets me see the world that animals and plants see. Through the lens, I imagine what it is like to be them. I would like my viewers to feel closer to the nature I see and remember that this is such a beautiful planet we live in.

I am an explorer of art in nature and a photographer of its beauty. My mission is to bring something beautiful from nature into people’s everyday lives in a form of fine art photography. I spend days and hours in order to capture nature’s magical moments and carefully attempt to match my prints with what the human eye experiences as closely as possible.
I grew up at the foot of beautiful Mt. Fuji in Japan, running around the rice fields, exploring around to find tadpoles, snakes, and butterflies. I remember I was always happy to find wildflowers in a small abandoned lot. I remember I loved the backyard of our apartment complex because it was covered with white clove flowers in the season. Spending days and hours in order to capture the beauty of nature reminds me of my childhood, making me feel like I am back to my real self.
After 13 years working for newspapers as a journalist documenting the human world, I decided to pursue my innate desire — to observe and document the beauty of wildlife and their habitats. I am trying to incorporate my skills from my newspaper career and my artistic vision when I photograph my subjects. Based in Houston, Texas, while capturing the beauty of the state of Texas on a regular basis, I travel to other parts of the world and explore the beauty of nature whenever I have a chance to do so.
