I love objects with multiple personalities- recognizable things that change when incorporated in a piece of artwork. I see that in my work- where antiques and recycled or found objects suggest one thing while the image may suggest another. I love how the layering of encaustic wax reflects the light differently depending on your viewpoint- like water and glass do.

My appreciation for color began at an early age as I watched my late father create in paint and wood as part of his many hobbies and interests. While obtaining a degree in education from Texas A&M University I realized I excelled in art – primarily sketching and painting – and went on to obtain a minor in art along with an elementary education degree. I dreamed then of focusing on art for a living but instead began a career in teaching. Fast forward a quarter century and through the blessing of a long marriage and raising three great kids I found myself in my late 40’s finally able to fulfill my dream of producing art for the enjoyment of others. I have since worked in many mediums and have for now settled upon colorful abstracts executed in resin as my primary form of expression.

During the last several years I have traveled all over the world and seen magnificent places and things I would have never imagined. I love photographing animals and nature and then turning them into works of art, from wild animals in Africa to monks blessing the Ganges in India and much more. My original photographs are archival pigment printed on art paper and then I hand paint embellishments and highlights onto each individual print. Each print becomes its own work of art, unique in itself. My love of travel, nature, and art have led me to this path.
